Hello, Glenn,
I enjoy your site and appreciate the tips and advice. I fell in LOVE! with the P-1800 when I watched The Saint back when I was in the eighth grade, some thirty+ years ago, and vowed to some day own one. My wife could only watch in wonder when I would drool and sigh when I saw one go by. We would occasionally see one for sale, but they were always so expensive, $5000-$8000.
Finally on my 45th birthday we were at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, just 35 miles north from where we live, and my wonderful wife Laurie saw a '68 parked with a For Sale sign. So we stopped and took a look, the price was $950, can you believe it? It needed a paint job, the dashboard was trashed, and it had a few other small problems. But we figured it must run if someone drove to the beach.
To me it was so beautiful it must have been created by the hands of God himself. Needless to say it turned out to be a wonderful birthday. I bought it from a lady in Sausilito, drove it home and could not believe how good it ran.
It has been two years and I am slowly getting her into shape. I had it painted, repaired the dash, and I love driving it around town and watching the heads turn.

Mike - Funny how a car can do that to you, isn't it? Thanks for sharing your story! -Glenn.
